When I decided to set up a website for displaying my books  (I write fictional novels)  it dawned on me that since I'm an avid reader of various subjects, and truly enjoy the work of many authors, that a website would also be an excellent means of clearing my bookshelves of the countless books I have accumulated over the years. I could list the titles on the ‘Net' at discount prices and, voilà, more space for new books.
Well, from that point in time, all sorts of ideas began to take shape. And since I'm no longer a spring chick, I had already begun to wonder what I would do with a lifetime of treasures my husband and I have collected. And there was that back room, filled with treasures my precious mom and dad-in-law had  left behind.
While mentioning my brainchild to friends and family, I was surprised by the many who asked about adding their own books and personal treasures to the Halstead House's fare.
My sister, who designs book covers for new books, mentioned that she would like to add her enterprise to the website. Well, as you might imagine, what began as a simple website for displaying my personal novels, has become a new venture encompassing friends and family throughout the land. And it appears as though new items and ideas are destined to keep popping up from every corner.  Now I am considering the idea of adding additional space for any or all who wants to add their crafts or wares to the store. That is, of course, as long as their product is acceptable and complies with standards set up for the website.
So, it appears as though the Halstead House will be expanding even farther as new members add their handcrafts and treasures to the bounty.
Also, you might find Bill and Bea Halstead's story interesting if you can spare a few minutes to read it through. Their story explains how they acquired many of their special treasures.
