The Halstead House

Our Website

In addiiton, our website tells the story of two facinating individuals and the people that came into their lives.

Each item in our shopping cart tells its own story. We hope you will enjoy your time shopping or just learning.

First I want to introduce you to the Memories Room. It contains an ample collection of Attic treasures,  rare collectibles, and items of interest from far and wide. And more items will be added each working day until the total Halstead collection is listed. The Memories collection is from the Wilfred and Beatrice Halstead Estate, and most items listed in this section have a known history.

You might enjoy reading about the fascinating Halsteads on the "About Bea and Bill" page, and learn how they acquired some of their treasures through the years.

Although this site is still under construction, and will be, to some extent from this day forth, it is now an active site, and all listed items are available for purchase.

Eventually, there will be collections of rare postage stamps from around the world, even gold ones with first day covers, and rare coin and medallion collections of silver, gold, copper, and other semi-precious metals from the nineteenth century to the present. There will be a few old silver certificates and hundred-year-old commissary notes.

Among the above mentioned will be a copy of a prescription for alcohol that was issued to movie star Robert Montgomery during prohibition days. This prescription contains the date, the druggists' name, the place of issuance, and to whom the prescription was issued. There will be several copies of the prescription available for purchase, but only one original. The certificates are framable and make great wall hangings or conversation pieces for libraries home bars or even guest rooms.

Certificates of authenticity will be issued for each item sold as authentic, and only items know to be authentic will be listed as such.

Also, there will be many sets, as well as odd pieces of sterling silver flatware and serving pieces. And this is just the beginning, so keep an eye on this site for all the hard to find items that you may have been searching for.

Getting all the items entered in the right categories and on the right pages will be tedious and time consuming, but if you will bear with us and keep checking the site, it might well be worth your time, to say nothing of the adventure of just searching out and viewing the new items as they arrive.

As this site expands and all of the current stock has been displayed for viewers, we will begin to welcome items from our customers who wish to add their own treasures to our site. That procedure will be explained when it becomes available.

Other options are being considered that will make this site a real pleasure to visit because our ultimate goal is to create biannual contest where real prizes are offered for your creative art work: Paintings, carvings, poetry, short stories, etc.

the winning creations and the artist's name will be displayed on the site.

At that point in time, we will be encouraging the participation of visitors on a national level and will try very hard to make the occasion interesting and fun for everyone who wishes to participate.

So, now you can feel good about doing all those things you've always wanted to do... create, create, create....

Also, if you have a few fabulous ideas you believe will add interest to the site, your ideas will be welcomed and considered.

Thank you, and many happy trails to you all....
